Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about groupage shipping between Türkiye and the UK

What is groupage shipping?
Groupage shipping is a freight forwarding service where goods from multiple senders are loaded into the same trailer or container. It is also referred to as part-load, LTL (Less than Truckload) or LCL (Less than Container Load). Groupage allows you to share the overall freight cost with other shippers, which makes it more cost-effective when you do not have enough cargo to fill a full trailer.
How often do groupage trailers run between Türkiye and the UK?
We operate regular scheduled groupage trailers between Türkiye, the UK, Ireland and BeNeLux. Departure days depend on the route — please get in touch with our team for the latest schedule and the next available departure for your shipment.
How long does road freight take between Türkiye and the UK?
A typical Türkiye–UK groupage road movement takes around 5–7 days door-to-door depending on the collection point, departure schedule and customs clearance time. We confirm the expected transit time before booking.
When should I use Speedy Van instead of groupage?
Speedy Van is the right choice when time is critical. It is faster than a scheduled groupage trailer and significantly cheaper than air freight. Typical transit times are 24 hours Türkiye–Balkans, 48 hours Türkiye–Mid-Europe and 72 hours between the UK / Spain and Türkiye.
Do you handle customs clearance?
Yes. We operate a 24/7 customs clearance office at Dover and we offer clearance at all other UK ports. We work with AEO procedures and prepare CDS import / export declarations, T1 transit documents and GVMS movements where required.
Can you store my goods on arrival?
Yes. We have bonded and standard warehouses available for both short-term and long-term storage. Bonded warehousing allows duty to be deferred until goods leave the warehouse for free circulation in the UK.
Do I need an EORI number to import from Türkiye to the UK?
Yes. Any business or individual importing goods into the UK needs an EORI (Economic Operators Registration and Identification) number. Without one, your shipment will be stopped at the border. We can help you obtain an EORI if you do not already have one.
